laser hair removal
A highly successful long-term solution
What is laser hair removal?
The laser uses a beam of light and heat energy to permanently remove hair.
How does it work?
The systems emits a pulse of energy that is absorbed by the hair and at the same time heat is directed down towards the hair follicle.
Because hair has different growth phases and the treatment only works in the active phase, several treatments are necessary to achieve a lasting result.
Typically 6 or 8 treatments in a pale skin and maybe 8 or 10 in a darker skin. However, some clients may require more treatments to achieve the desired result.
How effective is it?
As the treatment depends on the light energy being absorbed by the pigment colour of the hair, black and dark brown hair responds more quickly than light brown or blonde hair.
The laser treatment is unlikely to be effective on white, grey or blonde hair, as they contain virtually no pigment.
How long do the treatments take?
This depends on the area being treated, but they can typically range from a minimum of 15 minutes for the upper lip or chin and bikini line up to 60 minutes for the back or legs.
Is it safe?
As the treatment simply uses a beam of light to remove the hair, it is a non-invasive procedure, which is perfectly safe.
The laser settings used are individually chosen for your skin type and hair colour.
This is all discussed in your initial consultation, during which a patch test will be carried out to determine skin response and to hep ensure the most effective results in the treatments.
